"Visual perception is the ability to interpret information and surroundings from the effects of visible light reaching the eye. The resulting perception is also known as eyesight, sight, or vision (adjectival form: visual, optical, or ocular). The various physiological components involved in vision are referred to collectively as the visual system."

OPTICAL ILLUSIONS

Optical illusions occur when the visually perceived images differ from objective reality. Again, we refer to Wikipedia for a definition of the three types of optical illusion:

"There are three main types: literal optical illusions that create images that are different from the objects that make them, physiological ones that are the effects on the eyes and brain of excessive stimulation of a specific type (brightness, tilt, color, movement), and cognitive illusions where the eye and brain make unconscious inferences. They can also be known as 'mind games.'"

World Eyeglasses has collected an assortment of entertaining optical illusions of the third type for your entertainment. Enjoy the following amusing Mind Games.
